Southeastern Indiana

Starting in Lawrenceburg, this 28-mile trip will take you along the southeastern border of Indiana to Madison. Begin your trip in the Lawrenceburg Historic District, then take State Route 50 to Vevay. Continue the trip on State Route 56 to reach Madison. There’s a battle site, an art center and a plentitude of natural beauty along the way, so be sure to take your time. When you finally reach Madison, close your trip by visiting the steepest railroad incline or just relax and enjoy some time at a state park. View Itinerary.

South Central Indiana (Trip1)

Starting in Madison, this 57-mile trip will take you along the southernmost tip of Indiana to New Albany/Jeffersonville. Begin your trip in scenic parks along the Madison riverfront. When you’re done overlooking the Ohio River, begin traveling down State Route 62. Be sure to enjoy the museums, parks and historical sites along the way. Finish your trip with a day in New Albany/Jeffersonville, where you can stay busy exploring restored homes and historical districts. View Itinerary.

South Central Indiana (Trip 2)

Starting in New Albany/Jeffersonville, this 118-mile trip will take you along the southern Indiana border to Tell City, which is just west of the state’s southernmost point. Begin your trip in Thomas Jefferson’s “ideal city,” then take State Route 62 to Leavenworth. Continue the trip on State Route 66 to Tell City. Along the way, you’ll be able to choose from at least 25 historical and cultural sites to stop and explore. Southwestern Indiana

Starting in Tell City, this 54-mile trip will take you all the way to Evansville, situated in the farthest southwestern corner of the state. Begin your trip on State Route 66 by delving into the town named after William Tell. Continue along 66, being sure to stop and view one of the only seven Archabbeys in the world or visit where Abraham Lincoln grew up. When you finally reach Evansville, close your trip by enjoying the Museum of Arts and Science or check out downtown. View Itinerary.

Southwestern Indiana/Southeastern Illinois

Starting in Evansville, this 102-mile trip will take you along the southwest border of Indiana into Illinois. Begin your trip by exploring historical sites and museums in Evansville, then take State Route 66 to Shawneetown. Continue the trip on State Route 11 to Equality. Along the way, stop and explore Mount Vernon and New Harmony. At Equality, take State Route 1 to Rosiclare. Then take State Route 146 to your final destination in Golconda, Illinois.
